I start my first corporate/office job soon; is it appropriate to bring donuts/coffee/breakfast for my team on my first day? (if cleared by my supervisor first) How would this make you guys feel if you were on the receiving end?

To be honest, doing it on the first day could go 1 of 2 ways…1) people like it 2) you come across as a suck up and people expect you to be the donut provider moving forward. I would personally wait to do it until I’ve finished training and then bring it as a “Thank you for welcoming me and supporting me as a team.”

Okay, noted!! That's kinda what I was worried about. I want to do a nice gesture because I'm so excited and they have all been so nice to me during my onboarding process but I don’t want to show up day one and come off the wrong way. Thank you!

I think it just allows you to put your best foot forward and be appreciated for your personality and work ethic rather than leading with what you can give them. Bringing something afterwards when you know people personally would be appreciated even more so. Good luck!!

You could do it at the end of your first week also! Helps everybody have a great end of the week and feels like a “right time”

No problem! My first job in high school was both more and less formal than most (worked at a bank) but Friday was always the set “day” to celebrate things. My first week at my (soon) favorite branch ended with free milkshakes for the team from my boss :)
