Why do some people only wear there glasses sometimes or just never when they know they can help them in classes and when driving too

if someone can legally drive without their glasses their eyesight isn't that bad, if their eyesight is that bad they can't legally drive without them. I usually keep my glasses in my car because it helps me not lose them, and I need them to drive legally.

I hate the way they look on me but can’t get a new pair due to financial reasons and my insurance doesn’t cover contacts at all so even more of a financial burden.

I've scratched up my glasses to a point where they are unhelpful when I've taken them out of my car, and they're expensive to replace. For reference my prescription is 1.25 & 1.5, which for me means I can usually gather context if I can't see everything.
