The gofundme wasn’t started by the family, it’s been organized by friends. Some pole have strong supportive communities like that. The goal is usually for liquid cash for immediate expenses when assets (networth) may be tied up in contracts & royalties.

What I heard was that he didn’t really have any money anymore. They attributed this to his disease taking up a lot of that money but idk if that’s the only reason for him not having money to leave for his family. I did hear Salma Hayek was going to be giving like 3k to his family monthly if I’m not mistaken.
