I think there's a difference between average kid meanness and bullying, average kid meanness can live in your head forever without impacting you deeply and bullying can really be traumatic

it's very nuanced in how other will recognize it but it is valid, mainly because most people see trauma going beyond young bullying, especially if it happened in elementary school years, but kids can be cruel and it doesn't dismiss your experiences

I mean, being bullied in a time of crucial development (mentally, physically and socially) WILL leave a lasting negative impact on you. So I’d say yeah.

I think it’s also an issue in how we conceptualize trauma. People hear that and think like, bad abuse or active combat. They don’t realize that it’s a whole spectrum and extends to a lot of things that aren’t so obviously fucked up, but still can have strong adverse effects
