not saying this as a joke but maybe your definition of full fledged human could be different from another persons? just an abstract thought. we’ve all got our strengths and weaknesses.

In my experience, it was kinda expected that I already see them as humans when I was never taught how to love anyone (it wasn’t common sense for me as a kid). Later on, everyone in my family started pushing me to get a girlfriend like it’s an accomplishment, not true love. So in a way, it’s more about what we’re taught and how it’s pushed. If I didn’t stop obsessing over girls as a kid, I may have fallen for this viewpoint also.
