WHY DO MEN PUT THEIR NAME AS WOMEN ON DOORDASH? JUST SO I CAN BE FREAKED OUT WHEN OPENING THE DOOR TO CHRIS INSTEAD OF CHRISTINA???

1- women get more tips 2- many couples DoorDash together and send the man to the door 3- they may have their DoorDash account suspended and using a friends/girlfriends 4- they may have their license suspended and using a friend/girlfriends account

For me it’s always been the opposite, I’m expecting men and get women coming to drop off my stuff (not always food sometimes groceries or other items). I just assume it’s a couple doing deliveries together and don’t get freaked out over something stupid. As long as you’re getting your delivery who cares who’s bringing it to you and why do you automatically have bad thoughts? Some people are so anal about the most ridiculous stuff.

Women tend to have their accounts deactivated more than men, according to doordashes own statistics. Another bit thing is back ground checks, but the social phenomena of the mass incarceration of men (especially particular demographics who would be the most likely to need to rely on DoorDash for income) is very long discussion for a very long time

The whole world doesn’t like men And then they act like men are privileged

It is against their TOS, you can report the accounts and DoorDash is usually super good about suspending the account and banning the device they used for it

This is false. Also, in many cases, it is a “husband and wife” operation (or gf/bf, etc) where the woman drives to the house but the man goes to drop off the food (so that it is safer for her) If you want to report these accounts, you might end up suspending a woman’s account who is afraid to knock on the door and sends her husband there instead. Your choice if you want to do that.

This isn’t false. It IS against their TOS (only the person who’s account it is can manage the pickup and delivery, meaning door drop offs have to be done by the account holder), and they are pretty good about suspending the account. If you want to talk about the morality of that, we can. But nothing I’ve said is untrue. I personally wouldn’t report it because I don’t care. But I also don’t use DoorDash

Yeah I get that. You said you don’t use DoorDash and wouldn’t report them (I don’t use DoorDash either lmao) What I mean is your first comment reads as if you are explaining to people why reporting them is a good idea … but whatever, this conversation is going on too long

Nope, just giving people information of all their choices here. If they’re mad enough they think it should be illegal they do deserve to know they have the option to report it. Information is neutral

Alright, I concede that it is in fact against their TOS But I would have written a disclaimer that these guys are being paid near minimum wage for a job that is actually highly dangerous. Look up how dangerous delivery jobs are - just the fact that they have to drive is dangerous I would leave these guys alone, EVEN IF they are doing it just for the extra tips. The economy is shit. Let them get a tiny bit more money if they want, and don’t report unless they are actually doing something wrong

I mean if you read my original comment you’ll see that’s exactly what I said. I don’t really care, and I think these contractor delivery apps are just a new form of indentured servitude (digital serfdom if you prefer) preying on those most desperate for cash. It’s why I don’t use them, I’m not gonna pay jacked up prices just for DoorDash to make more money than the person doing the work

Ok, we can agree on that then. 👍 And yes, it’s messed up that DoorDash takes so much of they pay for themselves. It reminds me of pimps who take a high cut or landlords.

tbh those women aren’t in the clear because women… like imagine you order something late night and expect a woman then a random man appears outside… they’re messed up for that too

“Women tend to have their accounts deactivated more than men" Citation needed Look it up yourself. There is NO EVIDENCE that this is the case.
