If anyone has had a stroke/knew someone who had one what should I be prepared for in the aftermath? My mom had one and I want to help her the best I can.

there's such a wide range of aftermath. My mom had one and is mostly normal except for slightly impaired vision, and my great uncle had one and can't really talk anymore. Try to get advice from her doctors/nurses to see what she's been struggling with so far.

I actually had a stroke close to 5 years ago. This is just my experience I was wheel chair bound, I’m now on a walker, but close to being off it. It is a very slow process but you can recover. It also depends which side was affected mine was the right side. One piece of advice I have even if you are frustrated don’t let it show to her. The mental process of losing independence is very hard
