No matter what you think of his policy, Zohran Mamdani brings me so much hope to politics simply from his attitude and respect, which has been missing from politics since at least 2016

2 things 1) There was a beautiful American philosophy someone once explained to me, which was when your rich you’re rich your whole life, but being poor was only a momentary bad snap, so people always voted in favor of the rich knowing someday their ship would come in despite voting against their own interests making it easier to become poor and harder to get to the rich status.

No it’s not, NONE of them are better choices. Both people would like to see OUR hard earned money go to people who don’t even live in our country or would like to see our country do well. Both are sellouts to foreigners And Gavin ridiculed a guy for discovering fraud that cost Tax payers millions and said he shouldn’t be investigating. Trump is just as bad. You cant just say “he’s slightly better so vote for him” do research on candidates that don’t take money and brides to be known.

Ah yes, the previous admin is at fault for a 2026 deficit, projected 2027 deficit, projected 2028 deficit, etc. He blamed “recurring costs” on previous admins, yet he’s stacking even more recurring costs on top of that. You literally lied and 15 people upvoted you 😂 the irony of calling anyone who doesn’t agree with you “sheep”

I didn’t lie at all 😂 do you think millions of debt built up over previous years dissapears in 1 or 2? Do you lack common sense or what. Yeah it affects the 2026-2028 deficit and probably isn’t a problem that can be fixed in a short amount of time. Also these new costs are actually helping the people, which will lead to greater economic growth in the future whereas the previous costs were literally just being stolen to pad upbillionaire pockets and israel

The projected deficits in future years average $10.4 BILLION. From FY2028-2030, spending is projected to grow $8.4 BILLION annually. Yes, you lied. He is piling on new costs (why don’t you tell me how much that “free” grocery store costs and how many people it has actually served?) and is unable to find avenues to cover these hikes outside of emergency reserves and drawing money from the state. You blame previous admin for sending money to Israel, yet mamdani says it’s recurring costs?

upvote -2 downvote

Mamdani said himself there were millions missing from the previous admin that were not accounted for at all that seemingly just dissapeared/AKA stolen. That doesn’t mean there are 0 reoccuring costs dumbass 😂 why don’t you look up the grocery stores yourself and how they work and just how many people he has helped? You fail to understand things like free public transportation or public things like USPS(fed wise example) leads to growth indirectly by giving better access to people to work and

Mamdani has not accused the previous administration of of stealing. Lie count: 1. Mamdani instead blames recurring costs, yet continues to pile on more recurring costs. Dumbass lie count: 2 He has put down $30M and helped a grand total of 0 New Yorkers. A Walmart neighborhood market costs $15-35 million for a store 4-5 times the size. $3333 per square foot for his store vs $800 for a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods is quite a spectacle Lie count: 3

NYC has provided free transportation for decades via poor security in their subway system costing taxpayers a fortune in free rides Lie count: 4 As an owner of an online business shipping items frequently, USPS is objectively terrible for the taxpayers and should be shut down in favor of the private sector like UPS, FedEx, and now Amazon. Lie count: 5 You have no idea what you’re talking about, because you just listen to what they say blindly. Once again, the irony of calling everyone elsesheep

That could be. Could it also be, now hear me out because it’s far fetched, that people have empathy for average citizens who are being price gouged and feel as thought the landlords who are price gouging already have enough to not have to price gouge their tenants? This combined with believing those who have more can contribute more to the public good might have led to Mandan being elected? 😱

Living in a semi rural area, the private entities aren’t any more or less accessible than USPS, the customer service is better, the private entities offer both cheaper and higher end products, and they don’t destroy your package as often, and when they do, their insured package policy pays out quicker and better, they aren’t a burden on taxpayers, they sure as hell aren’t a burden on taxpayers when they have to pay out insured package claims because the lazy, good for nothing govworkers bustedit

It is asinine. Why should 1% of the population control how the other 99% live purely based on the wealth they possess? What logical reason says the government and the people should allow that to happen? Especially without them contributing much more to the public good than the average person because they have the means to do so?

I think currently all of your points are valid. However don’t you also think it’s possible if the public alternative of the usps didn’t exist it would lead to the rise of prices of private companies because there is no alternative?

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> vhstapes 11h

No, they keep eachother competitive. If they’re already cheaper than USPS as is, despite not getting a bottomless budget from the government, USPS does not do anything but dilute the sector preventing another private company like DHL from adding more competition. If anything, they artificially raise the prices by taking business and reducing business for the others, which hurts their scalability
