Yes and I did. It’s been the best decision of my life so far

Very often. Especially since I briefly lived in another country for study abroad so I know how much better life could be.

I’d like to live in a small Blue state, especially as opposed to a small Red one

I did for school. Partially for another reason that fell apart, but I’m still proud of myself for taking the step.

We send all our money to Israel so we don’t get our own money.

That entirely depends on where you’re moving, if you have a job lined up, etc. I had probably $8k in my savings, a credit card, and another like $1.5k check that came from my old job after I left. I took a 2 month break between jobs to move and settle in, and went through that pretty quickly between buying new furniture, UHauls, triple the rent that I was paying before, and other expenses. I also moved with my partner, so that was helpful.

I would recommend having 3 months of rent saved at least, even if you have a job lined up. If you don’t, either a year of rent (or close to it) and be actively job searching every single day. My partner didn’t have one lined up and it still took him close to a year to find anything sustainable bc the job market was and still is ass
