Because the planet is not being destroyed literally. I don’t wanna seem like I’m dismissing it as a hoax or non-issue, I know it is affecting certain areas of the world very harshly and may destroy many habitats and cause extinction of many species. But I don’t think it will cause billions of deaths anytime soon the way a nuclear war would

Well, how do you expect us to adapt, just keep using air conditioning to make our buildings colder while temperatures keep rising outdoors? Or do you think we will evolve to withstand extreme heat in the very short amount of time that temperatures are rising drastically on a geological timescale

We can’t rely on AC to keep us cool long term because most of our energy comes from fossil fuels, and increasing energy demands means more carbon emissions from burning FFs. This is one of the reasons why AI data centers are so destructive to the environment There is not enough investment in carbon neutral energy and won’t be any time soon, FFs make politicians too much money to give up

We also can’t biologically evolve fast enough to withstand the kinds of temperatures we’re reaching, the only option we have is to keep using energy to keep ourselves cool short term. Even a few degrees can make or break an entire species ability to live, with climate change there are many species going extinct due to heat as well as habitat changes and food chain disruption, something humans will deal with too

Again, I agree that it is very bad. I just don’t believe it is nearly as drastic nor as immediate of a threat as a world war

Again I very strongly suggest seeking out a class on climate and climate change at a college, I think everyone should have to take at least one, the amount of people who don’t understand how serious of a threat climate change is is concerning
