For lent im giving up instagram and this might sound pathetic but its really hard to not use it. It's like muscle memory to go on it. Any advice to help me not use it or other things to do instead of doom scrolling would be really helpful ๐Ÿ™

delete the app. youโ€™ll find yourself looking for it a few times but you eventually fill your time with other things (a game maybe)

You can always delete the app for a while, that won't delete your account or anything but it'll break the habit of opening it without thinking

It might be worth it to get outside more often, take a walk/explore the area with friends, etc. Or discover new hobbies or try something out like music, drawing, reading, etc. whatever works for you ๐Ÿ‘

Haha my roommates going through the exact same thing rn! I suggest apps like solitaire, itโ€™s still on ur phone but itโ€™s not addicting like social media

I deleted the app a couple months ago. I noticed I would get on other apps to scroll to replace it, so Iโ€™ve deleted those over time too. I am still working on lowering screen time overall, but I have found that games help because I can better limit the time I spend generally. I have enjoyed Crossplay with friends and family. Itโ€™s nice because if our schedules donโ€™t align, Iโ€™m on to take my turn then I usually get off after
