Idk how to study. I have to study for a big exam in May and I’m overwhelmed. Idk how to retain anything from textbooks, I never do when I read textbooks and I feel like time is just slipping away. Any suggestions would be appreciated

May’s such a long time from now, there’s tons of ways to approach that problem with that time frame. But idk what subject’s it for. But just read

I actually have a good method. Every lecture I use an AI note-taking platform called Granola so I can pay full attention to the professor and then I’ll take my class notes and put them into a claude project. When it comes time to review for the test I’ll upload the course materials and exam format and have Claude generate a mock exam, flash cards and a brief review slideshow that goes over everything. I’ll take the practice exam and review what I don’t understand!

Old school methods worked for me. Don’t just highlight, transcribe into a notebook those things you want to remember. The act of writing down helps you remember them. Also, since it’s so far away, before you start a new chapter of notes review all of your previous notes. Set up schedule about what you want to accomplish each week or month

So it’s the mcat, I’m so embarrassed cuz I always chicken out when it comes to this. I want to be a doctor so bad, don’t get me wrong I do, but for the life of me, studying for the mcat is just so difficult. Also reading and comprehending what I’m reading is difficult. But somehow I got my bachelors in biology idk how

Yeeah just read, don’t worry about understanding everything just make it a goal to read, comprehension comes with time

I’m just scared that I’ll spend too much time content reviewing and not enough studying. I feel like I don’t know anything so I have to content review but idk when to stop or how to really start. Idk what to read, there are so many options and idk if I’ll make a mistake using the wrong one.

Yeah I get it. There’s gotta be a review guide somewhere. But how i study is read, practice problems, then make flashcards about conceptual questions when you needed help with those questions

I just saw it’s the mcat. Similar advice with ai but you can use Gemini notebook to make audio overviews of topics, you could use ChatGPT voice mode and have a conversation with it about what you don’t understand the same way you would with a tutor, and again take practice exams. I find the best way to study is by taking the test first and then seeing what you don’t intuitively understand instead of overwhelming yourself with a giant textbook first

So I never really studied, tbh idk how I got my degree. When I tell you I don’t know anything I’m not trying to be modest, I took a lot of my classes online. I genuinely don’t know anything and idk how to study in general but I can’t prolong this, I’ve been doing that for so long.
