Ask to do something together? You may not want anything but he wants the gesture. Maybe walking around looking at lights with hot chocolate- it doesn't need to be something big to have a lot of meaning

Think of something that would make your daily life easier. Or say something along the lines of: “you can get me anything. Just surprise me!”

this doesn’t help *now* but it will in the future: keep a notes app wish list throughout the year and write in it whenever you have a random moment and remember something you want or need
