Idk why I think it only pisses me off bc they think they’re being slick? Like just walk up to me and do it, I wouldn’t care. But also I can’t judge bc when I was broke broke my parents and me would do this from time to time.

The only way I can justify this is because the up-charge is absolutely nuts. It’s just 99% water and syrup we buy by the gallon. Like if a customer pocketed their chicken nuggets, walked up to me and said they dropped theirs on the floor, that would be a diff story.

Honestly I was asking cause I do it pretty blatantly at chipotle and I don’t think they care. I ask for a water cup then go fill up with lemonade in view of the register

It’s so wholesome that you actually considered our feelings, which is NOT common at all. You’re not robbing us, we are all extremely aware of the “water cup” and besides, free refills exist so are you really robbing us?
