It’s because these people didn’t know those countries existed before they were in the news for what these people view as those countries’ 5 minutes of fame before they go back to forgetting they exist. “something needs to change!” and they do nothing to make that change but post about it online and claim the moral high ground instead of actually learning about the issue. Better yet, in some cases, they use the issue as an excuse to go ruin someone’s life who isn’t even involved (ie. when innocent businesses get destroyed or looted just because people know they can get away with it)
