
I see this topic all the time and my take is this (as someone who was bullied in school): 1. Friendliness is a spectrum. Instead of bullies, some people just need a not-so friendly person to say “why are you doing that” in a mean tone. It won’t make them want to kill themselves, but it will teach them that what they’re doing is not okay. 2. I feel like this should only be commented about kids/teens who are brats, stuck up, self-absorbed, etc. NOT furries, LGBTQ, and “weird” kids
“Yeah to the ones that stay soft” kind of supports the point #2 is making. Bullying *can* build character and it *can* just as easily spiral. If your main value here is simply “don’t be soft,” there are plenty of more efficient ways to achieve that than through bullying. I also feel like you may be defining bullying as something much more harmless than it actually is. Bullying involves a social power difference and ongoing targeted harassment.
