How do I know if I’m allergic to the adhesive on band-aids?

Only way you'll know is if you do it to find out. If you are you'll readily know

it doesn't hurt anything to say you're sensitive to adhesive. my latex allergy made my skin welt and sometimes bleed from some bandaids so that's my only frame of reference

I’m asking because where the adhesive touches turns red, I genuinely have no clue how I’m supposed to tell if it’s because of an allergy or if it rips my skin off

Well do you honestly think it's supposed to do that and it's something that supposed to just stick to you?

does it only turn red when you take it off? i would imagine an allergy would start reacting when you put it on but i'm not sure. but bandaids rip my skin often when i take them off and it becomes red and swollen for a few hours

It does so between putting on and taking off and last multiple days

Currently on day 3 and it’s faded but still visible
