Lowk I think one of my friends really doesn’t care about what’s happening rn in the US and how it affects her and I’m not really feeling that because being politically ignorant is someone I don’t wanna be associated with🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

People have different beliefs and viewpoints. Not being stressed out by the world’s politics is actually how life is supposed to be btw

Politics should NEVER be deep enough to cut someone off

Maybe your friend knows that their single opinion won’t change the outcome of a whole election or anything like that. So why spend their life worrying about something they can’t really change when they could spend their life having fun doing other stuff. No offense, but if you can’t accept other peoples opinions, it won’t reflect well on you in the long run.

Okay… say she starts caring. What’s changed?? Like it’s a bunch of worry that stresses u out 24/7. If she votes and supports the right ppl, at the end of the day threres no difference between u and her?

Think about it this way; you alone can’t change anything. So why worry over something you can’t control? Sure, you can go vote, but that’s not going to stop the wars. Focus on what you can control, like your education, job, friends. Your friend might not care now, but one day she might have kids and look back at your friendship.

idk why everyone’s going against OP i too would feel the same way if my friend thought like that. politics is that deep especially right now. so idk who all these people voted for yet somehow i do have a clue.

Honestly how i feel about one of my friends, she tried to get her black gf to immigrate to the us like girl black and brown ppl are being deported left and right i don’t think your gf would do better here. Then I remember i actively avoid thinking abt transgender issues so I’m not one to talk

Then don’t, can’t control people. It’s your circle so control that instead of them.

I didn’t say I cut her off however to be ignorant on purpose is another thing. Not associating with her doesn’t mean I cut her off however is does mean the time I spend with her could be significantly less

I’m confused on where I’m controlling someone?? I’d never make her change me associating with her is the change. If she care more about celebrity drama then this country’s economic crisis then that’s her however I don’t personally have to associate with her due to my own beliefs 😊😊

I did I comprehend very well. I’m controlling the situation on my side by not associating with her. You however used the word control therefore I reiterated what you said babes

It actually is that deep. I’m sorry I can’t associate with someone who chooses to stay ignorant on very important like issues??

The thing is I know she extremely smart and her other qualities pertaining to politics are a worry but just to not care in general is the problem. I respect her opinion and her in general however with the fact that she’s going into the legal system and doesn’t care is my problem.

Personally that way of thinking is the problem and adds to why people think their vote and opinion doesn’t matter

I get where you are coming from but your situation isn’t their situation. Then worrying about your situation or the situation of the world is not gonna change one thing. Especially with the way that politics are happening now the best thing we can do is vote for the right party, but there’s no point stressing out about things that you can’t control in the same goes for you. I get being worried, but for the sake of your own mental health, you can’t focus on it too much

No matter how important an issue is to you, we all view it differently. Doesn’t matter if it affects the whole world or just you. Not being associated with someone because your upset about their opinions is wrong. Maybe they shouldn’t be associated with you.
