As a parent whose daughter moved out, my wife and I were busy doing stuff we had a hard time doing while my daughter was there. Give them some time to come up for air.

It’s a question because the last few months our relationship has been strained. A couple of weeks before I graduated he threatened not to come because I said I have class pretty all summer so I can’t go home all that much. He took my tone as disrespectful and said no one will be there for my graduation. I swallowed my pride b/c I really wanted to see my family. It hurt me so bad that my family don’t see me as my own person and that I’m here because of my own efforts also.

I text them back after calling me a liar and bringing religion into me getting an apartment. It took me a week to process everything and I messaged them. My parents haven’t contact me back and it’s to the point they have my little sister and uncle to stop communicating with me also. My sister and I used to message everyday but she hasn’t since my parents stop talking to me

I did look at myself and I asked many others if I’m being unreasonable. My family does. Like they stated multiple times if I don’t believe in their religion I will no longer will receive their support

Then don’t respond if u don’t want to hear the situation. It’s not a clear cut answer to this situation

Thank you so much. This situation is difficult and I want to tell my dad happy Father’s Day but idk the point to. I still love them no matter how much they hurt me. No matter what I do they think it’s because I hate them.

Should I tell my dad happy Father’s Day or just leave it? I still appreciate a lot of what my dad has done. No matter what I do my parents think I hate them.

Girlie some people are just lowkey toxic and mean people and have nothing better to do that cause problems for other people. I mean LOL just look at yourself, you literally have commented so many times to OP and for what? You said your bit, now literally stop yapping to hear yourself talk. As someone who also comes from a house hold with a toxic family and an extremely narcissistic father, it is not always a problem with the individual. So in some #5 stop being annoying and OP your NITW.

lol parents cut off their kids for basic disagreements all the time 😂 and if you read any of the other comments they made it was over religious differences. Bad parents cut their kids off for dumb shit.

I’d literally just text “happy Father’s Day. I still love you guys no matter how much you’ve chosen to hurt me” get that guilty feeling to start sinking in them, maybe they’ll realize being a parent matters over religion

Things can get better if both sides work on it. I cut off my parents for three years and we made things right eventually.

Yea lol I called my grandma today and she is always on their side because they are associate pastors while she is the head pastor. 😭I’m too scared to tell her that I don’t believe in the religion anymore because I want to keep talking to her.

You don’t need to tell them anything. Don’t keep giving them information about you. It’ll do nothing but hurt you. They aren’t entitled to information about you just because you’re family.
