I hate so much of this show but this plot makes sense, he wants control and she wants to feel “chosen” and that’s unfortunately so common, also how she’s obsessed with portraying her life to “look” a certain way and obsessed with social media while she’s probably more miserable than rue
Literally- they got away with it bc of the casts popularity, and then the “aesthetics”, and cause most of their audience is a bunch of minors who don’t see how weird that is, but them being in college would have made a lot more sense idk why they had to go out of their way to portray the sex lives of high schoolers
no you underestimate how much he cares about his image. i would argue that’s the ONLY thing he cares about, and he needs to have the perfect white picket fence family just like his dad did. she’ll do whatever he wants because she wants him, so he can both have his family image and the control he needs for his fragile masculinity.
Sydney fucking Sweeney. Did you not see the AE eugenics ad? She defended it in an interview saying “the ad spoke for itself” and people would know if she had something to say like damn girl 😭 wave your white supremacist hating ass views right in our face. Zendaya refuses to do press w her for the new season
Also loved Steve until he cheated on Miranda then it was kind of meh. I hated how they were like forgive Steve and I’ll forgive you for what you said to Big that gave him cold feet. The thing with the kid was weird. Charlotte genuinely tried to be understanding and accepting of Rock but the school completely shamed her for not knowing about it. Also weird to have this identity thing with a kid who is still figuring life out
i feel like even though the show is really harsh it shows exactly what addiction and mental illness feels like and i think that can be important in some ways. like how rue is hooked on pills, we can really see how it changes a persons life and affects their loved ones. maybe that can prevent someone from trying something and ruining their own life yk
