upvote 172 downvote

It only really matters for cash transactions id assume if ur paying with card or something they’d probably just electronically take however much out of the account. When I was a kid in Canada using cash it would all be rounded up/down tho because I don’t think they have pennies

upvote 80 downvote
default user profile icon

And if I recall correctly the recipet from the transaction looked normal but they gave me like 2 cents less in change just cause of the whole rounding thing

Everything will round up to the nearest nickel now. So something that was $2.76 will now be $2.80. So on and so forth. It’s also a big deal for small business, tip earners, people who deal with cash like vendors, etc.
