They said that they could but didn’t because they are married, the implication being that they aren’t willing to come forward even though they could so oh well, its literally victim blaming. (Not saying that a married man having an affair is okay though, those men def need to have some consequences for those actions)
to you it sounds like “theyre not getting help because they cheated its pretty much their fault they cant get help for being drugged” to me it sounds like “they could get the help they wanted but since theyre married they probably wouldnt want to risk a divorce so theyre probably not going to get the help”
I agree. I don’t want to confuse wants with likeliness. They probably still want to, and you’re also correct in that even though you believe the marriage is a joke now, they still may want to prevent divorce for their own reasons, even more than they’d want to sue her and lose their wife.
