I have olive skin. her from 2013-2017ish is what dark olive skin looks like for someone who varies from fair to a bit more tan, like me. the thing she was doing from 2018-2020 is not a natural shade for her, and very closely aligns with when she started using AAVE for style points.

I’m also half Latino, and my skin tone fluctuates, but not to this degree. someone who goes from fair to tan wouldn’t get as unnaturally dark as she got from 2017-2019… which are also the years she started faking a blaccent and using AAVE. why would she turn asian immediately after, too? people with olive skin don’t suddenly start doing their makeup to look asian a couple years after they were doing their makeup to look black.

I’m Latino so I’m very familiar with tanning. The only outliers in that pic in my opinion are 2018 and 2023. Even so, both can still be explained by natural tanning. Pictures at different points of the year/my life can look that different. I don’t think I’ve ever been as pale as she was in 2023 but I’ve definitely been as dark as her in 2018 and I’ve met a million Italian/latino’s that naturally get that dark
